Who are we?
Dave’s Travel and Events Group (DTEG) took over as the new owner of Sydney Beer Week in 2017. DTEG started as Dave’s Brewery Tours, NSW’s only craft beer and brewery tour operator, specialising in giving guests behind the scenes experiences of the local beer community. Since commencing brewery tours around Sydney in 2013, Dave’s has grown to include Historical Pub Walks in Sydney and Newcastle, brewery tours in the Hunter Valley and Canberra and become Australia’s only specialist beer events agency.
We have a team with a broad range of expertise across the beer, events, hospitality, and tourism industries and hope to cement the festival’s presence on Sydney’s event calendar.

Our team is dedicated to sharing Sydney’s vibrant beer culture with locals and visitors alike. Our mission is Great Beer for All.
Why did we take it on?
Dave’s has been involved in the annual festival since 2014 and in 2016 started discussing with the previous owners about the the need to take Sydney Craft Beer Week to the next level, and working on ways to achieve this. The major focus at DTEG is to showcase and highlight all our local beer scene and communities through awesome travel & event services. With our experience and contacts across beer, events and tourism, and with a heap of encouragement from our industry mates we felt that we were the best placed group to take up the challenge.
Why did we rebrand?
With a new team at the helm, we decided this was the perfect opportunity to refresh the brand and deliver a new look for the festival. Sydney is a beautiful Alpha city on the global stage, so we felt it was only appropriate to bring some of our most iconic landmarks into the brand to help promote the festival to the world.
Why did we drop the craft?
When SCBW started in 2011, there was a need to differentiate craft beer from the rest of the market. As the beer industry has grown and matured, and people's’ palates have changed, the conversation is not about craft or mainstream – it’s more about what kind of beer people like to drink. We have seen bars across Sydney embrace all styles of beer – you can have a watermelon sour as your mate beside sips on a traditional pale lager and we think this is great.
Where do we want to take Sydney Beer Week?
Our vision is to deliver a world class celebration of beer – for consumers, producers, venues and communities. This means continuing the great work done by the previous owners and expanding the festival to reach more of Sydney. We want to provide opportunities for the beer curious as well as those already passionate and knowledgeable across as much of Greater Sydney as we possibly can.
