After the success of the 2024 program in collaboration with the New South Wales Amateur Homebrewers Association (NSWAHBA), we are thrilled to officially launch the Pro-Am for 2025. This unique event celebrates the craft of brewing by bringing together passionate homebrewers and commercial brewers to celebrate the art of brewing through learning, collaboration, and friendly competition.
Running alongside the NSWAHBA’s state competition, the Pro-Am offers category winners the incredible opportunity to brew their winning beer on a professional scale with an established brewery. The final creations will then be showcased at one of Sydney’s best rooftop venues—Hotel Sweeney’s—during Sydney Beer Week 2025.
The Pro-Am beers will be blind judged in two ways. By you, the consumer (and I'm sure the brewers that helped create the masterpiece!) – each attendee will receive a token to vote for their favorite beer, without seeing others’ votes, ensuring a fair contest. Also by the organisers – with a weighted score based on NSWAHBA category and style guidelines, aligned with BJCP standards.
The winners will be announced on the night, capping off what promises to be an incredible celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and community in brewing. Whether you’re a homebrewer, a beer enthusiast, or a seasoned pro, the Pro-Am 2025 is an event you won’t want to miss.
The NSW Amateur Homebrewers Association (NSWAHBA) in conjunction with Sydney Beer Week invites you to participate in the inaugural Sydney Beer Week Pro-Am Competition.
